Getting to a shortlist of 3–5

The directory is built to move you from 31 tools to a handful worth a conversation in under a minute.

Step 1

Start from your job, not the tool

Pick your role and institution type first. A risk manager at a bank and a sustainability lead at a corporate should end up with different shortlists from the same 31 tools.

Step 2

Narrow to one primary use case

Physical hazard modelling, carbon accounting, disclosure, portfolio risk, supply chain, transition alignment or nature. Combining two use cases usually returns nothing — run two searches instead.

Step 3

Check what the AI actually does

Every entry names the AI method: NLP over documents, machine-learning hazard downscaling, classification, agentic workflows. This tells you where AI sits in the workflow, and where it does not.

Step 4

Filter for what you can try today

Use the free-access toggle to see tools with an open-source, freemium or trial route in, so you can test the workflow before starting a procurement conversation.

How to read this directory

Discovery, not procurement advice

This is a practical discovery directory. It is not a procurement recommendation or a model-validation assessment, and not every listed product is a dedicated climate-risk model.

AI method caveat

“What the AI does” describes where AI is used in the workflow. It does not imply that the underlying climate model itself is AI-based, or that it has been independently validated.

Access caveat

Pricing and trial availability change frequently. Use the product link on each tool to confirm current access before publishing or procuring.

Framework caveat

TCFD is retained only where useful as legacy mapping. IFRS S2 / ISSB is the current global baseline successor for climate-related financial disclosure.
